Greater Rochester Teen Read

For the last 6 years, FFRPL has served as the Fiscal Agent for the Greater Rochester Teen Read. We also help support their program and publicity efforts.

GRTR encourages everyone in the community to read the same Young Adult book. Many copies of the featured book, including back list titles by each author, are available at libraries across Monroe County.

 

2019

For the 10th Annual Greater Rochester Teen Read, YA author G. Neri (Grand Theft Horse, Ghetto Cowboy, Tru & Nelle, Chess Rumble, Surf Mules, When Paul Met Artie and Antarctica) made stops at Central Library, the Maplewood Community Library, Brighton Memorial Library and Hillside Children’s Center.

Greater Rochester Teen Read 2019 was generously sponsored by the Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library, the Monroe County Library System, Friends of Brighton Memorial Library, Friends of Fairport Public Library, Friends of Irondequoit Public Library, Friends of Penfield Public Library, Friends of Pittsford Community Library, and Rochester Public Library.

2018

YA author Laurie Halse Anderson (Speak and The Seeds of America Trilogy: Chains, Forge and Ashes) made stops at the Fairport Public Library, Irondequoit Public Library, and Central Library.

2017

YA author Paul Griffin (Saving Marty) visited the Central Library of Rochester & Monroe County, Fairport Public Library and the Greece Public Library. Teens were able to enter to win book prizes. Griffin signed copies of his books after each of his presentations.
