Your Donation Matters!
In 2017, the Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library worked with a Rochester couple to create a new permanent fund aligned with the values of the Rochester Public Library and the Greater Rochester community: the Equality Fund for Humanity & Enlightenment.
The Equality Fund for Humanity & Enlightenment is a permanently endowed restricted fund of the Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library. Invested earnings will be used annually to supplement library resources, programs and materials in pursuit of a world free of discrimination, by promoting education and equality of opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual (LGBTQIA) people, especially those who intersect with any or all of the following:
with all resources, programs and materials secular in point of view, and all materials and resources in the sciences or social sciences based on research conducted using the scientific method.
Your tax-deductible donations to the Equality Fund for Humanity & Enlightenment will support the Rochester Public Library by providing supplemental resources, programs and materials in perpetuity. Your gift will help bring equality and intellectual freedom for all people in our community now and in the future, via a one-time, annual or estate gift.
To give a gift today, complete the Special Projects Donation Form and mail to FFRPL, email donna.borgus@libraryweb.org or call (585) 428-8321 or (585) 428-8322.
The Equality Fund for Humanity & Enlightenment logo was created by enhancing the FFRPL logo with the original pride colors from 1978 (hot pink, red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, indigo and violet) and the addition of black and brown to represent LGBTQIA people of color within Rochester’s community. It symbolizes the intersectionality of our historic struggles for both justice and intellectual freedom.
