Along with Senator Jeremy Cooney, FFRPL co-sponsored the RIT College of Art & Design Mobile Outreach Van design project teams, who were tasked with re-imagining a modern mobile library concept. FFRPL funded a set of laptops for RPL GO! and subsequently raised additional funds for supplemental materials/equipment for the mobile unit.

The ribbon cutting for RPL GO! was held December 2024. Based at the Lyell Branch Library, RPL GO! offers convenient library access to hard-to-reach areas in the City of Rochester. The vehicle holds rolling carts of library materials, programming supplies, and portable technology.

For the 2025-26 fiscal year, FFRPL helped expand the VIP Pass Program to include 5 new VIP Explorer Kits, through the Harold Hacker Fund for the Advancement of Libraries.

The Monroe County Library System (MCLS) and Central Library added five new VIP Pass Explorer Kits to the popular VIP Pass collection: for the Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester Museum & Science Center, Corning Museum of Glass, George Eastman Museum, and Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion.

Each kit includes a VIP Pass for reduced or free admission to one of the select locations, books related to that location, and interactive items patrons can use during or after their visit.

The kits are housed in Central’s Arts and Literature Division. Patrons can also place a hold on a kit to have it delivered to their nearest MCLS library. Kits can be borrowed for 2 weeks.
