LGBTQIA+ activist, educator and historian Evelyn Bailey spent decades tirelessly chronicling the struggles and achievements of Rochester’s active, progressive LGBTQIA+ community.
In the last year of her life, Evelyn partnered with Central Library and FFRPL to establish the Evelyn Bailey Shoulders to Stand On Endowed Fund, which will help provide staff and resources at Central Library to preserve and share the history of Rochester’s LGBTQIA+ community, through archival collections and programming.
